Recap
Clyde failed to take their chances as they fell to another defeat in Elgin this afternoon.
Darren Young made four changes to his side, with Jay Kennedy, Logan Dunachie, Dom Docherty and Taylor Sutherland coming into the starting XI, whilst Darren Lyon returned to action from the bench.
The Bully Wee created an early opening when Docherty fizzed a cross across goal for Robbie Leitch at the back post, but his effort was blocked behind by a defender.
Clyde continued with their strong start and Sutherland was played in behind the Elgin defence twice, but was denied by Aidan Glavin on both occasions.
The hosts then took the lead when Kennedy’s misplaced clearance landed a the feet of Mark Gallagher, and he curled an effort into the empty net from 30 yards out.
Good link up play by Docherty and Martin Rennie released Sutherland through one-on-one with Glavin again, but the ‘keeper pulled off another fine stop to preserve his side’s lead.
Elgin then doubled their advantage right on the interval following some static Clyde defending, with Russell Dingwall nipping in at the back post to slot home a low cross.
After the interval Kennedy got down low to save a long distance free-kick, whilst The Bully Wee had further chances through Leitch, Rennie and Williamson, but found Glavin unbeatable as the points stayed in Elgin.
