A late penalty from David Goodwillie earned The Bully Wee a point against Stirling Albion at Broadwood, in what was an entertaining Ladbrokes League 2 match.

Kieran Duffie, Kevin Nicoll and Smart Osadolor all returned to the starting line-up as interim manager Tony McNally made three changes to the side.

Clyde started the match brightly and were unfortunate to take a very early lead, when Osadolor and Darren Ramsay were both thwarted in the box.

At the other end, Darren Smith came very close, when he slid to connect with a low cross but the ball just missed the outside of the post.

David Goodwillie forced away ‘keeper Cammy Binnie into a good stop, but the scoreline remained blank at half-time.

Early in the second half, Barry Cuddihy forced Binnie into action again and that set the tone for most of the rest of the game, as The Bully Wee looked the likelier team to score.

Kevin Nicoll smashed the post from a few yards out, Ramsay put a volley just over the top and Goodwillie was stopped by Binnie once more.

However, the league leaders grabbed a classic sucker-punch with 78 minutes on the clock, with a break down the left ended with Smith having an easy job to tap the ball in from a couple of yards out.

Thankfully, with five minutes left to play, Clyde were given the opportunity to equalise when the referee spotted a foul in the box and pointed to the spot. Goodwillie made no mistake with the penalty.

Both teams continued to look for a winner in the closing stages but a full-time score of 1-1 left mixed feelings in the Clyde camp.
