Recap
The Bully Wee ended the League Two season with a defeat at Forthbank today, as Stirling secured a play-off spot thanks to three late goals.
With several players missing, Jim Duffy made various changes to the starting line-up, with Kieran MacDonald also returning to the team following a two week injury absence.
As expected, the home side started on the front foot and scored via an early penalty. Brian McQueen’s tackle left the referee in no doubt and Jordan White converted from the spot.
However, Clyde soon levelled the scores with a penalty at the other end. Under-19 youngsters Gordon Young and Fraser McGhee combined to earn the award, with Ross McKinnon stepping up to score his first goal for the club.
Before the break, Albion almost took the lead again when Craig Comrie’s header hit the bar.
The Binos continued to press for an advantage in the second half and were mostly on top, although substitute Kevin Watt came close to scoring for Clyde but his effort was blocked on the line by a sliding Stirling defender.
The match was eventually decided by a trio of goals in the last five minutes of play.
White scored his second of the day when he thumped the ball into the net after Rajovic had blocked two shots, with Ross Forsyth adding another from a corner. Poor defending allowed Phil Johnston to nod in a fourth goal in injury time, concluding a disappointing end to the match for The Bully Wee.
