Today’s League Two match ended in a draw, following a very entertaining contest between The Binos and The Bully Wee.

Jim Duffy made some changes to the Clyde team following the Albion Rovers match, with Giuseppe Capuano, Michael Daly and Stef McCluskey all added to the starting line-up.

The match started slowly with little action at either end, but as the first half progressed it was Clyde that took complete control and created several chances.

Daly missed two great opportunities to open the scoring, first from a McCluskey cross and then after a chipped pass by Scott Ferguson. The latter also had a low shot saved by David Crawford and the Stirling ‘keeper then produced a magnificent stop to prevent McCluskey’s effort finding the net.

Thankfully, a much-deserved goal arrived just before the break. John Sweeney latched onto an excellent knock-down by Daly and, after his first shot was blocked by Crawford, he managed to bundle the ball into the net from close range.

Clyde looked comfortable at the start of the second half, but the home side gradually came into the match. Substitute Sandy Cunningham forced Nik Rajovic into an excellent block, but an equalising goal soon followed. Graham Weir was the man to get it, as he pounced on a loose ball in the box and found the bottom corner of the net.

The match looked like it could go either way at that stage and Daly’s header was stopped by Crawford from point-blank range. At the other end, Stirling came agonisingly close to scoring again when a shot was partially saved by Rajovic and the ball was then played across the goalline twice before being cleared by David Marsh.

However, the best late chance fell to Sweeney when he found himself through on goal, but he appeared to get caught in two minds and was eventually blocked before getting a shot away.
