The Bully Wee produced an excellent second half comeback at Shielfield Park this afternoon, with substitute Karim Belmokhtar getting a dramatic winning goal deep into injury time to complete the victory.

Danny Lennon named the same starting line-up following three victories, with Jack Boyle returning to the bench.

It was Clyde that dominated the majority of the first half in terms of territory and possession, although clear-cut chances were kept to a minimum by a stubborn home defence. David Goodwillie was very unlucky though when he created space for himself at the edge of the box and fired a shot against the inside of the post.

Berwick made Clyde pay for not making the most of their dominance soon after that chance, when a quick breakaway led to Cedwyn Scott cutting inside Martin McNiff and firing the ball into the bottom corner.

Shortly before half-time, a similar move with the ball being moved forward quickly and catching out The Bully Wee, was finished off by Jack Ogilvie, who placed a low shot past Blair Currie.

Karim Belmokhtar was introduced to the action at half-time, replacing Ally Love.

Clyde made a very important early move after the break, getting a goal back on 47 minutes. A low cross from the right found McNiff at the back post and after his effort was blocked, Goodwillie made no mistake from close range.

A few minutes later, a fine team move produced the equaliser. Mark Lamont brought the ball forward through midfield and picked out Belmokhtar with a clever pass. The forward took a touch and found the far corner with a lovely finish, for his second goal for the club.

The Bully Wee seemed to have the hosts rattled at this point and Goodwillie almost scored another following a typical determined run, but his final shot just crept wide of the target.

The Borderers managed to steady the ship somewhat, but both Lamont and Belmokhtar had a sight of goal in the box following crosses that weren’t fully cleared, but both put the ball over the bar.

Deep into injury time, one last attack led to a dramatic winning goal. McNiff started the move from the back and fed substitute Jack Boyle, with Lamont and Goodwillie then combining to force a save from home ‘keeper Sean Brennan. The rebound fell to Belmokhtar and although his first effort was blocked, the ball fell to him again and he blasted it into the roof the net, sparking big celebrations both on and off the pitch.
