Recap
The Bully Wee took a big step towards securing a play-off position this afternoon, with a solid two-goal victory at Links Park.
With Kieran MacDonald injured, Jim Duffy brought in Ross McKinnon at left back and Michael Daly also returned to the starting line-up.
The match had a fairly even start, but a Clyde goal after 20 minutes swung the pendulum. Good work by Stuart McColm on the wing led to Stef McCluskey finding Daly and he finished well from close range.
Soon after that, McCluskey was brought down in the box and he stepped up to convert the subsequent penalty kick to double Clyde’s advantage.
In the second half, Montrose pushed to get back into the match but, despite having a lot of possession, created little in font of goal. The home side did, however, force Jamie Barclay into a fine save with around five minutes left to play.
At the other end, Scott Ferguson had been denied by a last-gasp tackle but the two goals proved to be enough as a hardworking performance earned a crucial three points.
