Recap

Clyde continue their good form and made it three wins on the bounce after a hard fought victory over Edinburgh City at the Hamilton Community Stadium this afteroon.

Darren Young unsurprisingly named an unchanged team from last last weekend with a singular swap on the bench, as Robbie Leitch returned with Darren Lyon dropping off.

Clyde started the game very well in the opening proceedings with Jamie Bradley forcing a routine stop from Mark Weir.

They kept the pressure up and Logan Dunachie fired an effort towards goal from a corner which Weir made a superb reflex save from to tip onto the bar.

However it was not long until Clyde grabbed the opening goal when Kyle Connell bulleted a long throw into the box. It found James Hilton, who produced an exquisite outside of the foot flick to put The Bully Wee ahead with 23 minutes on the clock.

City started to grow into the game after the opener and Clyde had Jay Hogarth to thank for a block one-on-one from an Edinburgh forward.

The Citizens drew level on the 37th minute with a back post header from Jake Service that crept over the line and into the net to level up the match.

Clyde pushed for a goal to go ahead after the break and came close on multiple occasions with the best chance falling to Marley Redfern in the 61st minute. Hilton swung in a delightful ball to a dangerous area and Redfern beat an advancing Weir to it, but he couldn’t keep the header down.

The winning goal eventually came for Clyde in the 80th minute when Scott Williamson barged through the defence and fed the ball to fellow sub Taylor Sutherland who cut in and saw his effort blocked by the Edinburgh defence. The ball fell kindly for Williamson though, whose effort was powerful enough to get by Weir.

The Bully Wee could’ve had another four minutes later when Clyde cut open the City defence but Williamson didn’t hold his run and offside was given as he rolled the ball into the net.
