Recap

The Bully Wee slumped to their first home league defeat of the season this afternoon, as Edinburgh City took the points with a winning goal in the fourth minute of stoppage time at Broadwood.

There was one change to the Clyde side that was victorious at Forthbank last Saturday, with Mark Lamont replacing Darren Ramsay.

Barry Cuddihy had the first shot on goal, but his effort was tipped past the post by City ‘keeper Calum Antell. Clyde took the lead in the eleventh minute from a Jordan Stewart free-kick into the box, which was glanced home by Max Wright.

The visitors equaliser came through a great individual effort from Abdelkarim Belmokhtar. The striker jinked past three Clyde defenders, before firing a shot into the top right-hand corner of the goal from over twenty yards out.

Jordan Stewart almost put The Bully Wee back in front with the first serious attempt in the second half, but his left footed shot from a free-kick on the edge of the area was tipped onto the crossbar by Antell, and behind for a corner.

Edinburgh City then caught the home defence napping when a quick free-kick was played to Belmokhtar, who waltzed past white shirts and once again found the top corner of the net from outside the area.

Jim Chapman changed formation and brought on Smart Osadolor to try and salvage something from the match, and the Nigerian forward set up David Goodwillie (pictured) to equalise three minutes from time. Osadolor headed a cross across the face of goal, and Goodwillie hooked the ball past Antell from close range. Despite two City defenders trying clear the ball, the assistant referee immediately signalled that the ball had crossed the line.

The Bully Wee did not want to settle for a point and continued to throw men forward to grab a winning goal, and there was to be some late drama.

The referee deemed a challenge from Andy Munro on Gavin Malin to be worthy of a straight red card, and from the resultant free-kick that was floated on the box, veteran striker Craig Beattie nodded past Currie to claim all three points, in the 94th minute.
