Recap
Fans made a long awaited return to Broadwood this afternoon as The Bully Wee booked their place in tomorrow afternoon’s NL Broadwood Cup Final, following a 3-1 victory over Albion Rovers.
Danny Lennon started seven of his summer recruits, and there was also a place in the starting XI for Gregory Tade, who was listed as a trialist.
Clyde opened the scoring in the 22nd minute from the penalty spot after David Goodwillie was fouled in the box. The captain took the spot kick himself and sent the ‘keeper the wrong way.
The visitors equalised in 64th minute when sloppy play at the back allowed Rovers to gain possession, and a square ball across the six-yard box was blasted into the roof of the net by Callum Wilson.
The Bully Wee regained their advantage six minutes later when a free-kick on the edge of the box was played short to Ally Love, and he rifled the ball home.
The win was secured in the 78th minute when Goodwillie got on the end of a defence splitting pass from a trialist and rounded the ‘keeper to slot into the empty net.
