Recap
Clyde slumped to another disappointing defeat this afternoon, with the Wee Rovers recording a comfortable victory at Cliftonhill.
Forward Scott Anson was added to the Bully Wee starting line-up as a trialist, with Iain Gray also coming into the side.
There was little incident to report in a fairly even start to the match, but the home side managed to find a crucial opening goal after 17 minutes. Slack Clyde defending led to Chris Boyle being able to slot the ball into the bottom corner from the edge of the box.
That seemed to change the match and for the rest of the half, Albion dominated proceedings and exposed a struggling Clyde defence on several occasions. Two more goals were scored before the break; Ciaraon Donnelly forced the ball home from close range and Chris Hamilton found the corner of the net from an unmarked position.
The Bully Wee’s performance was slightly improved after the interval, but it took until the 80 minute mark for any impression to be made on the Albion goal. Substitute Stuart Mills was able to score after receiving Kevin Finlayson’s pass.
Moments later, Anson missed a great chance to make things interesting when his weak effort was cleared off the line.
Any slim chance of a comeback was ended, however, when Finlayson was shown a second yellow card for simulation.
