Stranraer heaped more misery on Clyde as two goals in the final quarter of an hour saw all three points remain at Stair Park.

New signing Cammy Ballantyne was handed a debut with Ross Lyon and Connor Young also being recalled to the team, as Chris McGinn, Jaze Kabia and Ray Grant dropped to the bench.

After a quiet opening half hour Alex King created the first real chance when the ball fell to him on the edge of the box from a corner, but his curling effort was just over the bar.

At the other end Stranraer came close through Dylan Forrest after his shot from distance rattled the crossbar.

The hosts had another couple of chances in the penalty box shortly after the restart following a corner but on both occasions efforts were blocked by the bodies of Clyde defenders.

Clyde should have taken the lead on the hour mark when Ray Grant threaded a pass through the Stranraer defence to leave King one-on-one with Lewis Budinauckas, but he saw his effort saved and Allan couldn’t control the rebound with the goal empty.

The Blues took the lead in the 75th minute after Kyle Fleming drove a low shot beyond Neil Parry.

Allan had a chance to find an equaliser shortly after but he dragged a shot wide of the post, and Clyde were reduced to 10 men with five minutes remaining, after Ross Lyon committed a foul during a two-on-one counter attack, denying a clear goalscoring opportunity.

Stranraer sealed the points in stoppage time when Finn Ecrepont from inside his own half spotted Parry off his line and his long range effort found the net.
