Recap

The Bully Wee turned in a sensational performance at Ochilview this afternoon to come from behind and score six against league leaders Stenhousemuir.

Ross Lyon was brought into the side for his 100th Clyde appearance, with Erik Sula and Jordan Allan also returning.

Jordan Allan had a good opportunity in the opening minutes but dragged his shot wide, before both goalkeepers were called into action, with Brian Kinnear touching a bullet header onto the bar with his fingertips, and Jamieson saved well to deny Allan at the other end.

The Warriors took the lead in the 24th minute when a low cutback evaded Kinnear’s grasp and Euan O’Reilly tapped into the net.

Clyde however were back on level terms on the half-hour mark when Liam Scullion blasted home a free-kick on the edge of the box.

The Bully Wee then took the lead two minutes later after Allan got on the end of Ray Grant’s through ball and sent a shot past Jamieson which came off the post, but he was able to tuck home the rebound.

Clyde doubled their advantage four minutes after the restart following a strong run through the middle of the park from Barry Cuddihy who released Ross Lyon. The right-back got to the by-line and sent a low cross into the six-yard box, where Martin Rennie was on hand to slot home.

Rennie got his second of the afternoon six minutes later in style, picking up a loose ball 25 yards from goal and unleashing a rocket of a strike into the top left hand corner of the goal with his left foot.

The Bully Wee then remarkably added a fifth goal before an hour was played; Cammy Ballantyne connected with Allan’s flick and sent a shot across the body of Jamieson and into the net.

Allan then had a chance to notch goal number six with a lob of the advancing Jamieson but the ‘keeper did well to stretch and get fingertips to it.

He was not to be denied for longer though, after good work from Alex King down the left ended with him sending a teasing cross to the back post where Allan was on hand to head home from close range.

Kinnear was called into action on a few occasions as the game reached a climax but pulled off a string of fine saves to preserve Clyde’s lead.
