Recap
The Bully Wee came from behind to take a well-earned point against Stenhousemuir at Ochilview this afternoon.
Interim manager Tony McNally made two changes to the side, with David Gormley making his first league start of the season in place of Smart Osadolor, and Callum Home replacing the injured Kieran Duffie. There was also a spot on the bench for under-20 squad member Lewis Warnock.
The Warriors had the better of the opening stages and twice in quick succession came close to breaking the deadlock. Blair Currie made a good reflex save on the line from a header and then Andy Munro blocked a powerful shot heading for target.
The home side took the lead after twenty minutes, from the penalty spot. A cross into the Clyde box was cleared, and Mark McGuigan fell to the floor after what looked like an innocuous collision with Jordan Stewart. The referee, who had a good view of the incident, did not signal for a penalty, but went back several seconds later and pointed to the spot, on the advice of his assistant referee. McGuigan took the spot kick and placed it in the bottom left corner, just out of Currie’s reach.
The lead was almost doubled before half-time when a corner found Ross Dunlop, but his effort came crashing back off the post.
Clyde got more into the game in the second half and netted an equaliser five minutes after the interval. A corner from Darren Ramsay was floated into the box and it met the head of David Gormley, who flicked it on to David Goodwillie at the back post. Goodwillie had time to compose himself, before slotting the ball past Chris Smith.
Confidence was growing amongst The Bully Wee players and Barry Cuddihy was unlucky to see his effort saved after playing a one-two with Goodwillie. Smart Osadolor and Jordan Lowdon also had shots from the edge of the area saved by Smith.
At the other end of the park Clyde defended stoutly as the Warriors had a flurry of corners in stoppage time, but held out to earn their first Ladbrokes League 2 point since September.
