Recap
The Bully Wee picked up their first win on the road this season with Ross Cunningham’s late double sealing all three points against East Fife at Bayview.
Danny Lennon named the same starting XI that picked up a point against Queen’s Park last Saturday.
David Goodwillie had an early chance to break the deadlock when he was the recipient of a corner but his effort was blocked, and then both Robert Jones and Paul Kennedy were unable to convert rebounds in a goalmouth stramash.
East Fife’s first real chance of the day came through Andrew Osei-Bonsu midway through the half, but he dragged his effort from the edge of the box just wide of goal.
Kevin Smith then had an opportunity for the hosts moments later but sent his header past the post.
Clyde were fortunate not to go in a goal down at the interval after failing on a couple of occasions to clear their lines in the same passage of play, but East Fife were unable to take advantage after some penalty box pinball.
The second half was a fairly scrappy affair but Clyde took the lead in style in the 73rd minute. Ross Cunningham picked up a loose ball on the right hand side of the pitch and cut inside, before hitting a sweet left footed from over 25 yards into the net.
Cunningham doubled his tally and The Bully Wee’s advantage just four minutes later. Gregory Tade held the ball up before releasing Barry Cuddihy on the overlap. He fizzed a low cross into the box which Goodwillie flicked on, and Cunningham rushed in to rifle the ball past Jude Smith.
Goodwillie then had a chance to add a third when he raced clear of Chris Higgins but his chipped effort went over the bar.
