PREVIEW: Peterhead v Clyde
The Bully Wee will make the long journey to the North East coast tomorrow to take on Peterhead in Ladbrokes League 2.
The early league table has the two clubs in the top two positions, following back-to-back victories for Clyde and four points gained by The Blue Toon.
For Clyde tomorrow, no changes are expected to the squad that will travel to Balmoor Stadium.
Speaking to the official website ahead of the match, Danny Lennon was looking to build on the first two fixtures:-
“We are delighted with our start to the league so far. We have met the challenges both those games presented and overcome those challenges strongly. We earned maximum points and kept clean sheets and the players deserve great credit for achieving that. They have put a tremendous amount of work into preparing for and playing in those games. They have been rewarded with six excellent points.
“We now have 34 more challenges as we work our way through this league campaign. The six points so far are incredibly important and we need to keep adding to those points, game after game. The big prizes aren’t handed out until the end of the season and we want to be there when they are.
“The players and the coaching staff are enjoying their football right now. We are enjoying it because we are working hard, giving our best and rightly being rewarded for it. We are looking to keep enjoying our football week in, week out. This is this beautiful game after all and it is most beautiful when you are at the top of your game, giving excellent performances.
“Peterhead are the bookies and pundits favourites for the league title. Tomorrow will be a big test for us – another challenge to rise to. We look forward to that challenge, giving our best and seeing where that takes us. League titles are not handed out by bookies or pundits. League titles are earned by the team who works hardest, plays the best football and wins more points than any other team in the league. That is our aim this season and we are all focused on giving it our best shot, day after day, training session after training session and game after game.”
