Peterhead 1-0 Clyde
The Bully Wee lost their first Ladbrokes League 2 game of the season today, going down by a single goal at Peterhead.
Danny Lennon played the same starting XI which registered a victory at Forthbank last Saturday.
The first half was a mostly scrappy affair and influenced by a blustery wind.
Clyde’s best chances came from free-kicks outside of the box, but Jordan Stewart and Chris McStay both failed to find the target.
Before half-time, Russell McLean found some space in the box but his low shot was well blocked by Blair Currie.
On 53 minutes, a simple ball over the top of the Clyde defence allowed Rory McAllister to get through on goal and the experienced forward made no mistake in finding the back of the net.
The Bully Wee came close to equalising when David Goodwillie’s shot went just past the post.
Derek Lyle then put a chance over the bar for the home side, before Ray Grant forced Greg Fleming into a save at the other end.
The closing minutes of the match saw The Blue Toon hold on for victory fairly comfortably and the final result moved them to top spot in the league table.
