Accies Colts 4-1 Clyde

A much changed Clyde side was dumped out of the IRN-BRU Cup by Hamilton Academical Colts this evening.

Only Jordan Stewart, Ray Grant and Chris McStay retained their places from Saturday’s victory at Forthbank.

The hosts broke the deadlock after eight minutes when Mason Bloomfield rounded Kieran Hughes and stroked the ball into the net.

The Bully Wee were level a minute later following a deep cross from Eddie Ferns which found the head of Chris McStay. An Accies defender thought he had cleared the header off the line but the assistant referee signalled for a goal.

Hamilton took the lead again just after the hour mark when Hughes could only parry a long range shot, and Ross Cunningham was the quickest to react to turn the ball home.

Dylan Cogill hit the crossbar with a header as Clyde searched for a second equaliser but Accies soon extended their lead through Ronan Hughes, before Bloomfield scored his second in the final minute to put the tie to bed.
