PREVIEW: Annan Athletic v Clyde

The Bully Wee will travel to Galabank tomorrow, for the latest match in Ladbrokes League 2.

It’s the fourth and final league match between the clubs in 2017-18 and both teams still have an outside chance of reaching the promotion play-off zone.

For Clyde tomorrow, club captain Kevin Nicoll returns from injury and is in contention to feature again.

Speaking to the official website this afternoon, Danny Lennon said:-

“We’ve had to make a few changes recently due to injuries, but the pleasing thing for me and the staff is that it’s made a minimal difference overall. That’s testament to the boys that have come in and the way they have stepped up to the plate. We do have some round pegs in square holes at the moment, but it’s an opportunity for players to go into different areas and to learn from that.

“I think we’ve come a long way since our last match at Annan when, to be honest, we could have played without a ball! We’re very respectful of Annan and the players they have and aware of where they are in the league. Tomorrow is an opportunity for three very valuable points and we want to keep our good run of form going. There’s a bit of added incentive for the players because they know a win will move us up a place in the table.

“I love this stage of the season when the prizes are about to be handed out and clubs are fighting for every point. Annan will see themselves as within touching distance of the play-offs, similar to us. It’s a very competitive league and it makes it very exciting.”
