Strip Problems In The Highlands

The small band of Bully Wee supporters at the Caledonian Stadium on Saturday were left baffled as the Clyde team ran out from the tunnel at 3pm – because they were wearing Inverness Caley away strips!

On arrival at the ground, the squad was shocked to find that they didn’t have a full set of kits with them. Only the home strips were carried and strangely three had unexpectedly gone missing since they were prepared on Friday. Rumours are circulating that the strips have been stolen, but this has yet to be confirmed. Alan Kernaghan later explained:-

“We arrived at the ground yesterday and realised three of the strips were missing – numbers 2, 7 and 9. We’ve yet to investigate how or why this happened but we will be looking into it.”

“We spoke to Hugh (Dallas) before the game, and he suggested we could borrow some of the supporters’ shirts and put numbers on them. However, John Robertson said they were happy enough to let us use their away kit so that was fair enough.”

“We got an unusually big round of applause when we came out for the second half – I think the locals thought we were the home team!”

Clyde have now played in six different kit variations this season, surely a record…
