Inverness 1 V 2 Clyde

Clyde jumped into third place in the First Division and set their sights on second place with an excellent victory in the Highlands today – the first in over two and a half years.

Simon Mensing flicked a Paul Shields corner into the net on 28 minutes, but the first half was generally a poor contest. On the hour mark Alan Kernaghan surged forward to take a quick free kick, play a one-two with David Hagen and calmly cross the ball over for Stephen McConalogue to head into the corner of the net.

Inverness scored a scrappy goal almost immediately and dominated proceedings thereafter, but the Clyde defence held firm and an impressive three points were secured.
