Clyde’s last home match of the 2011-12 campaign ended with a positive result, following a well deserved draw with champions Alloa.

Jim Duffy made two changes to the team that travelled to Peterhead last week, with Paul Hay and Ryan Kane replacing Drew Ramsay and the suspended Iain Gray.

The game started badly for The Bully Wee though, as the visitors scored in the opening minutes. Ryan McCord’s pass eluded Gavin Brown and Stevie May was able to roll the ball past Nick Feely from close range.

Towards the end of a closely contested first half, it looked like Clyde had scored an equaliser when John Sweeney’s corner went straight into the net. However, referee Colin Steven disallowed the goal for an infringement that was hard to spot.

After the half-time break, Kevin Cawley’s pace helped open up space for himself in the box but Feely produced a good save.

Clyde then came close to scoring when a defensive header almost found the net, with Pat Scullion unable to get enough on the rebound to beat away ‘keeper Bain.

The same player did score a fine equaliser after 65 minutes though. Some good passing football led to Gavin Brown receiving the ball on the right wing and his low cross was neatly placed into the bottom corner by Scullion.

Despite the game opening up in the closing stages, neither team could find a killer touch in the final third and the full-time whistle confirmed a share of the points.
