The Clyde FC Youth Development department has an excellent reputation within Scottish football and aims to nurture young talent for the good of the club and the game as a whole.
During 2007/08, the club received a full award from the Scottish Football Association as recognition of its efforts.
Gary Bollan is the Head of Youth Development and leads a fully qualified team of coaches in delivering teams in six age categories; under-13, under-14, under-15, under-16, under-17 and under-19.
At under-19 level, the players move into the control of the club manager and integrate closely with first team activities. Players such as Craig Bryson, Kevin Bradley, David McGowan and Ruari MacLennan have all recently made the progression up to The Bully Wee senior squad in this way.
The outlook is exceptionally bright for the club in terms of producing players, with a number of highly regarded coaches currently working with very talented players at all ages.
Look out for further details on each of the Youth Development’s teams as they enter the 2008/09 season.
