Trio Sign New Deals

We are pleased to announce that Kyle Fleming, Craig Howie and Darren Hynes have signed new contracts with the club, all extending their stays at Clyde for a further two seasons.

Fleming joined The Bully Wee last summer, and made 48 appearances, the joint most in the squad. He netted twice, with his versatility proving key as the season went on.

Howie will enter a sixth season with Clyde having initially joined in 2019, before returning in January 2024. He enjoyed a fine year at the heart of the defence, playing 46 times, and taking his total Clyde tally to 148 appearances.

Hynes also had his best season at the club to date, contributing two goals and six assists from 42 matches, taking his overall Bully Wee tally to four short of a century.

Meanwhile Tommy Robson will move on from Clyde at the conclusion of his contract, having accepted an offer from another club. The left-back made 83 appearances in his two seasons with us, scoring one goal. We thank him for his efforts during his time with The Bully Wee, and wish him well in his next chapter.

Darren Young commented after the trio putting pen to paper:

“We’re delighted to secure Kyle, Craig and Darren on new contracts and keep three hugely important players at the club for the next two years. Kyle is vital for us, with his ability to seamlessly slot into different positions and always perform to a high standard. His versatility and attitude make him a massive asset to the squad.

“Craig is one of the best centre-halves in the league and also brings real leadership qualities to the dressing room. His experience, organisation and presence on the pitch are invaluable for the group.

“Darren has made the right-back position his own and gives us great energy down that side of the pitch. He consistently contributes both defensively and offensively with his driving runs forward and quality delivery into the box.

“Keeping players of their calibre at the club is a huge boost for us, and we’re looking forward to seeing them continue to play a big role for us moving forward.”
