Brian McLean Appointed Head Coach
The club is pleased to announce the appointment of Brian McLean to the role of Head Coach.
The 38-year-old joined Clyde last summer and became club captain, before taking on an additional role as a coach midway through the season.
Brian has enjoyed a long playing career in Scotland whilst also having spells in England, Iceland and Singapore, and gained an international cap for Northern Ireland. He holds a UEFA ‘A’ coaching licence and has also been coaching in the Kilmarnock academy.
Director of Football Jim Duffy commented:-
“I’m delighted that Brian has accepted the offer to become Head Coach. He is someone I know well and who I enjoyed working with last year as a captain and coach, and now he has the added responsibility of being Head Coach.
“Brian commands respect in the dressing room and has natural leadership qualities. He has aspirations for a coaching career and I’m sure he will have a positive influence on a new crop of players over the course of the new season.”
Brian also spoke to the official website after his appointment:-
“I am excited and grateful to both the club and Jim for this opportunity to be the Head Coach of Clyde Football Club. It’s a new chapter for myself as well as the club. It’s something I have been working towards and I can’t wait to get started.”
