PREVIEW: Clyde v Peterhead

The Bully Wee kick off the final month of the regular cinch League 1 season at home to Peterhead tomorrow afternoon.

Clyde sit one place and five points ahead of their visitors in the table, but have yet to beat The Blue Toon this season. The Aberdeenshire side won the first game of the campaign 3-2, with four goals coming in the opening 19 minutes. They then took a 2-0 lead at Broadwood in December before Clyde came back to earn a point, and struck deep into stoppage time at Balmoor in January to deny The Bully Wee an away win.

Monday Samuel will be looking to make his home debut after starting his first match since last year on Tuesday evening. Neil Parry also came through the Glasgow Cup tie unscathed on his return from injury.

Danny Lennon spoke to the official website ahead of the game:-

“Looking back at our last home game against East Fife, we dominated that game from start to finish. The story of our season though is that we don’t manage to produce that kind of performance two games in a row. Last week we pushed a good, full-time Queen’s Park side all the way and I feel there was a injustice for their goal. Obviously conditions didn’t help us but we need to take the good aspects of our performance into this game against a Peterhead side who always provide a tough challenge.

“They’re coming off the back of a very good result last week, but so were East Fife in our last match at Broadwood so we are confident we can get all three points from this again and finish the season strongly. We have five weeks left to finish as high as we can in the table, and then look to have another season of progress again next year.”
