Clyde 0-3 Peterhead

Peterhead strolled to a victory and three cinch League 1 points at Broadwood today, with The Bully Wee turning in a very below par performance.

Danny Lennon made two changes to the side from last Saturday’s defeat at Firhill, with Mark Docherty returning after an absence and Monday Samuel making his first start, replacing Billy Mortimer and the injured Nick McAllister.

The visitors were first to get a shot on goal through Grant Savoury, but Josh Bradley-Hurst was equal to his effort.

Clyde then created a chance after good work from Adam Livingstone, who drove down the wing and cut inside to tee up Lewis Jamieson, but his final effort was weak and held by Brett Long.

Savoury fired The Blue Toon ahead with a quarter of an hour played after playing a one-two then slotting the ball past Bradley-Hurst into the bottom corner of the net with his left foot.

Clyde almost equalised in bizarre circumstances. A heavily deflected shot looped towards goal and Long had to backtrack to keep it out.  Aaron Splaine was the first to react to the rebound and had plenty of time to pick a spot but hit his effort straight at Long.

The Blue Toon then had a chance to add to their lead from six yards out after Bradley-Hurst picked up a back pass. The ‘keeper redeemed himself though after the indirect free-kick was tapped to Scott Brown, and he rushed from his line to bravely block the shot.

Peterhead doubled their advantage nine minutes after the restart when Hamish Ritchie cut in from the right flank and curled a fine effort into the far corner of the net from the corner of the box.

The points were secured just after the hour mark when Savoury beat Bradley-Hurst to a cross and headered into an empty net.
