PREVIEW: Cove Rangers v Clyde
Clyde are on the road in cinch League 1 action, as we travel to The Balmoral Stadium to face Cove Rangers.
The Bully Wee won the previous meeting between the sides this season, with a David Goodwillie double securing a 2-1 win at Broadwood.
The last match at The Balmoral Stadium ended in dramatic style, as a 90th minute goal from Mark Lamont saw Clyde take a 3-2 win down the road in what was the first game between the teams.
Barry Cuddihy could miss out after coming off injured last weekend, but did take part in training during the week as did Johnathan Page who edges ever close to a return to action.
Danny Lennon spoke to the official website ahead of the game:-
“Last Saturday was one of those days where everything that could go wrong went wrong. We had a lot of work to do this week as we owe the fans a great deal as we’ve been far too inconsistent of late. We have an opportunity to bounce back, as you do in every game in this league. Every fixture you look upon there will be challenges and tests, but the biggest test for us is what we’re going to bring to the game against Cove.
“Cove are a very, very good side and they have some good individuals in their squad, but we are a good team as well. We have some really talented players here and we need to have the belief and the consistency when we reach the levels that we are able to perform at on a more regular basis. One of the biggest things that our fans deserve is that mentality.
“The backing of our supporters for this game will be massive. I can totally get the frustration they have at this moment in time and the hurt that they feel as there is a fantastic history at our football club, and I’ve made sure the players know that. I want my teams to be remembered for the right reasons, not the wrong ones.”
