Sports Dinner Speakers Confirmed
The club is pleased to open ticket sales and confirm the guests for the upcoming 2019 Clyde FC Sports Dinner. The event will once again take place at the iconic Barras Art and Design (BAaD) venue in Glasgow on Saturday 2nd March.
Two superb headline acts have been secured for the evening; Sheriff Lindsay Wood and Tam McManus.
Sheriff Lindsay Wood has acquired a reputation as a highly entertaining and humorous after-dinner speaker with a wealth of fascinating legal anecdotes. Appointed to the bench in Glasgow in 2003, Sheriff Wood now deals with the wide and varied challenges of Europe’s largest Court. Prior to that he was a solicitor for 25 years, and later became managing partner of a large legal practice with 25 partners and 350 staff.
Tam McManus enjoyed a long career in football, making over 300 senior appearances and also earning 14 Scotland under-21 caps. The forward predominantly featured for clubs at home – including Hibernian, Dundee and Dunfermline Athletic – but he also played in the USA, Ireland and England. Since retiring in 2016, Tam has entered football journalism and broadcasting and is a regular guest on BBC Radio Scotland.
The club is also delighted to announce that Dougie Donnelly – renowned sports broadcaster and lifelong Clyde fan – will host the event as Master of Ceremonies.
A five-course dinner will be served in the Courtyard area at BAaD, with details of the menu to be announced soon.
Ticket prices have been set at £55 per person, with a reduction to £500 for a table of ten booking. They can be purchased now via the club’s official Yapsody page.
