NEW SIGNING: Karim Belmokhtar
The club is pleased to announce the signing of Karim Belmokhtar this afternoon.
Karim, 22, is a French-Algerian who first entered Scottish Football with Edinburgh City last season. He attracted wider attention following a match-winning display against The Bully Wee at Broadwood last September, during which he scored two fantastic goals.
The forward went on to have a short spell with Peterhead and, following a return to France, has now agreed to join Clyde initially until the end of the 2018-19 season.
Karim has been training with the squad for two weeks and also made a brief substitute appearance at Annan on Saturday as a trialist.
Speaking to the official website, Danny Lennon said:-
“We have been working hard all summer to boost our striker options. This is usually the most difficult position to fill, as competition is always high for players that can open up defences or find the back of the net.
“Our policy has been to recruit players with quality, character and a strong work ethic. Part of that character is genuine hunger for success and a willingness to work to achieve it. We believe we have found that in Karim. He is a young lad with good qualities present in his game, but also someone who wants to get better. We believe we can help to make improvements in his game and help him achieve his ambitions.
“Karim has had a taste of this league from last season at Edinburgh and Peterhead. We believe he can make a strong contribution and we look forward to helping him play his best football here at Clyde.”
