Clyde 0-2 Edinburgh City
The Bully Wee put in a lacklustre performance at Broadwood this afternoon, as Edinburgh City took all three Ladbrokes League 2 points back to the capital.
Jack Boyle and Dylan Cogill both made their first league starts of the season, replacing David Goodwillie, who was attending the birth of his child, and Jordan Stewart.
Both sides cancelled each other out for most of the first half and there was little in the way of goalmouth action, but Chris McStay was unlucky after showing good skill to beat two City defenders, before his effort was cleared.
Clyde then had the ball in the net but the goal was incorrectly disallowed by the match officials. Ally Love timed a run to perfection and met a through ball before rifling past Callum Antell, however the assistant referee wrongly flagged for offside.
Blair Currie was called into action early in the second half and he made a great save with his fingertips to deny Scott Shepherd from breaking the deadlock.
At the other end John Rankin came close after playing a one-two with McStay, before he fizzed a long range effort just past the post.
The Citizens took the lead just after the hour mark following a slick passing move, which was finished off by Shepherd, who placed his shot across Currie and into the net.
The visitors sealed the points ten minutes later when Blair Henderson weaved his way through The Bully Wee defence and made no mistake with his finish.
