PREVIEW: Clyde v Stenhousemuir
The Ladbrokes League 2 campaign continues tomorrow, as Clyde host Stenhousemuir at Broadwood.
It’s the third meeting of the sides so far in the 2017-18 season, with both previous matches ending in 1-1 draws. The Warriors currently sit in third place in the table.
For The Bully Wee tomorrow, Jack Breslin is ruled out with a knee injury and Max Wright is still sidelined with a calf problem. However, club captain Kevin Nicoll returns after a one-match ban.
Speaking to the official website this evening, Clyde boss Danny Lennon said:-
“Last week’s result was disappointing, given the momentum we had and what our aspirations are. There were positives to take though and I was certainly pleased with how the lads responded to going a goal down. I thought we battled back into the game and created a bit more than we have in recent weeks. We’re looking to take that into tomorrow and take more of those opportunities.
“We need to see each and every player respond positively and show a steely determination to achieve the wins that we require to move up the league. We haven’t got the wins yet, but there has been improvement and we want to encourage that and keep working on the other side of the game; creating and converting chances.
“Stenhousemuir are going to be difficult opponents, there’s no doubt about that. They were regarded by many as the favourites for promotion at the start of the season and are sitting in a play-off position at the moment, which is where we want to be.
“In terms of the transfer window, we are in dialogue with clubs and players but things are never straightforward. Nothing is certain in football but we are actively working on possible targets.”
