PREVIEW: Clyde v Annan Athletic

The Bully Wee’s first home match in the 2017-18 Ladbrokes League 2 campaign takes place tomorrow, with Annan Athletic visiting Cumbernauld.

It’s already the second meeting of the two clubs this season, with The Galabankies narrowly losing out at Broadwood in the Betfred Cup last month.

For Clyde, Darren Ramsay returns from suspension and is included in the squad. Scott Ferguson remains ruled out with an abdominal injury, but has started light running again. Jordan Lowdon continues to make good progress towards a return to competitive action, but tomorrow’s match has come too soon for him. David Gormley will also miss out, after having a knee operation today as scheduled.

Speaking to the official website this evening, Jim Chapman said:-

“There are obviously some key things to be learned from the Berwick match, particularly about taking chances when on top and keeping concentration at other times. It wasn’t a positive result, but the overall performance had a lot of good things to take from it, albeit with some harsh lessons as well.

“In a perverse way, the reaction to the defeat last week is something that’s really positive. Everyone was extremely frustrated not to win, I’m sure including the supporters who really got behind the players during the match.

“Tomorrow is going to be very difficult – it will be two teams that are desperate to get their first win of the campaign.”
