Joe Walters

The club was again saddened to hear that another former player from the Fifties, Joe Walters, had sadly passed away this week, only a few days after Davie Laing’s passing.

Joe made his debut for Clyde in February 1956 and by his last game in March 1962, he had amassed just over 230 appearances for The Bully Wee.

The pinnacle of Joe’s time with Clyde came on 26th April 1958, when he took his customary position at right-half in the Scottish Cup Final versus Hibs – a match which was of course won courtesy of that famous Johnny Coyle goal.

The club’s thoughts and condolences are with Joe’s family at this time.
