Gormley and Ferguson Extend Stay
The club is pleased to confirm that David Gormley and Scott Ferguson have signed new one-year contract extensions with The Bully Wee.
David joined Clyde in the summer of 2015 and the experienced 29-year-old forward has been a key part of the first team squad since then, scoring 23 goals in all competitions so far.
Speaking to the official website, he said: “It’s good to sign, I wanted to stay at the club and hopefully we can rectify what happened last season. I was happy to hear that David Goodwillie had also signed up and hopefully we can strike up a good partnership again. I’m looking forward to pre-season.”
Scott, 22, enjoyed a very successful introduction to the team as a teenager in 2013 and has already made well over 100 appearances for the club, despite a more difficult time recently following a serious injury.
He said: “Personally, I know that I wasn’t at my best last season, even when I was fit. I’m hoping to get a good pre-season under my belt, get back into the starting line-up and do what I know I can. The manager has told me that he wants to see me play the way I did in my first season with the first team, when I was enjoying my football.”
Jim Chapman said: “I’m delighted that David and Scott have returned. I think they are players who, when they play to their potential, bring goals and excitement to the team.”
