UNDER-20s: Clyde 2-1 Morton
The Bully Wee’s under-20 side recorded an excellent victory over Greenock Morton in the Development League West last night.
The Ton took the lead in the first half, but Clyde’s youngsters equalised before half-time when a quick counter attack involving Euan McMillan, Alex Lynn and Robbie Davidson led to Ronan Sweeney scoring with a glancing header.
The impressive comeback was completed in the second half, as Aaron Millar took advantage of a defence splitting pass from McMillan and found the net with a composed finish.
CLYDE: M McMillan, Martin, Bell, Coleman, Lynn, E McMillan, McPhee, Sweeney, Quinn, Millar, Davidson. SUBS: Barr (Davidson 87), Trialist, Trella (Lynn 65), Clark (Quinn 80).
Head coach, Richard Fox said: “Everyone was outstanding and there was a great work ethic, against a full-time team. We defended well when we had to and always looked a threat when going forward. There was also a very assured goalkeeping performance by Mark McMillan, who has really come on in the last couple of months and that’s very pleasing.
“Ten of the team last night also played earlier in the season when we lost 8-1 to Morton, so they had a point to prove and they more than did that. Overall, I’m delighted.”
