Two New Signings

The club is pleased to confirm the addition of Marc McKenzie and Ryan Finnie to the first team squad.

31-year-old winger McKenzie (pictured on the homepage) joins from Stirling Albion and will be a familiar face to fans of The Bully Wee, having also featured for Elgin City and Albion Rovers previously.

Finnie, 21, features in defence or midfield and is formerly of Hamilton Accies, Rangers and Annan Athletic. During his teenage years, he was selected for Scotland duty at various youth team levels. Ryan made a short substitute appearance as a trialist at Stirling on Saturday.

Clyde manager, Barry Ferguson spoke to the official website at the end of a busy week of activity off the pitch:-

“I think it was clear that we needed to bolster the squad to help the players that we already have; we’ve also been unlucky with injuries which hasn’t helped. I really want to thank the people that have agreed to help us out over the next few months to allow us to make new signings, because we just didn’t have the budget within the club.

“Marc is a player I have always liked. He was on our radar in the summer, but we couldn’t afford to bring him in. When we found out that he could be available, we worked hard to get a deal done and bring him to Clyde.

“He’s a bit of a livewire – a committed player who scores goals and is a real winner. He’ll bring something to the squad that I’m sure will help the rest of the boys.

“Ryan is a player who hasn’t fulfilled his potential, with the ability he has. He’s a very good footballer and could be playing at a higher level, but at the moment he needs to find somewhere that suits him and that he fits into it.

“He has played in defence in his career but I also see him as a holding midfielder. He had a few options but he enjoyed coming in with us over the last couple of weeks.”

Both men have signed contracts until the end of the season initially.
