Free Dr Bike Events
The Carbon Clyde team are delighted to be working with ScotRail, Tesco Craigmarloch and Recyke-a-bike on two upcoming events, offering a free safety check on bikes.
If you want to have your bike checked please come along to either Croy Station, between 7.30am and 10.30am or Tesco Craigmarloch, between 10.30am and 1.30pm, on Friday (7th October).
Project Manager, Karen Welsh said: “This will be our second Dr Bike event and we hope that they can continue on a monthly basis, not only at Croy Station but at other venues in Cumbernauld. The funding for our events is down to the Clyde FC Community Foundation being awarded funding through the Scottish Government’s Climate Challenge Fund.
“The Scottish Government are committed to encouraging healthier and greener travel and are investing money to motivate people out of their cars. Their aim, by 2020, is to invest in active travel and they remain committed to a shared vision of 10% of everyday journeys being made by bike. This event is that start of the Carbon Clyde Project’s own commitment to share this vision.
“We will also be delivering, in partnership with Recyke-a-bike, led rides and bike maintenance workshops in the future.”
