Clyde 3-1 East Fife

A superb second half comeback earned Clyde a much-needed League Two win at Broadwood this afternoon.

Barry Ferguson made three changes to the team following last week’s defeat to Albion Rovers. Brian McQueen (pictured) was handed a new role in attack alongside the returning Scott McManus, with under-20 squad member Gerard Traynor given his first start of the season in the left-back slot.

There was an early setback for The Bully Wee when Nathan Austin gave the visitors the lead with a header from a Scott Smith corner.

Clyde went on to dominate the majority of the first half but, similarly to last week, struggled to create any clear-cut chances in front of goal.

Alan Martin pulled off a good save early in the second half and that gave The Bully Wee a platform to get back into the match.

McQueen looked to be enjoying his new position up front and he capped a fine performance by getting on the scoresheet to pull Clyde level, heading home from Scott Ferguson’s cross.

After 66 minutes, Euan Smith then put Clyde ahead when he found the net after being set up by McQueen and youngster Traynor sealed the victory with an excellent free-kick.

There was almost a fourth goal for The Bully Wee before the full-time whistle when McManus hit the post with a diving header.
