Clyde 0-1 Albion Rovers

The Bully Wee’s poor run of form continued at Broadwood this afternoon, as an early Liam Cusack goal earned Albion Rovers a League Two victory.

Barry Ferguson made four changes to the side following last week’s defeat at Berwick Rangers, with Fraser McGhee, David Sinclair, Scott Ferguson and Michael Daly all returning to the team.

However, it was the visitors that took an early advantage in the match, with former Clyde man Cusack scoring after 14 minutes with a composed finish.

The majority of the first half was evenly contested and, as Clyde tried to get back on level terms, David Gray’s deflected shot went wide of the post and Scott Durie’s low cross was just missed by both Daly and Watt.

The second half saw little created in the way of clear-cut chances, particularly at the away goal as The Bully Wee found it difficult to make any telling impact in the final third of the pitch.

The Wee Rovers twice came close to scoring again before the end of the match, as Scott Chaplain hit the post and Gary Fisher forced Alan Martin into a good stop from close range.
