New Contract for Sweeney

The club is pleased to announce that the latest addition to the Player Investment Initiative is John Sweeney, with the Clyde captain extending his contract to the end of the 2014-15 season.

Sweeney, 26, spoke to the official website after finalising the deal today:-

“I am delighted to sign a new contract with Clyde. I have really enjoyed my time at the club and I have noticed massive changes over recent months. I’m very excited to be part of the manager’s plans for the next 18 months.

“I would like to thank all of the Clyde supporters for getting right behind the players in recent weeks, as it really does make a difference on the park.

“I will continue to give 100% effort in everything I do for the club.”

Club director, Bobby Gracey added: “I am delighted that our player investment model has proven to be a success and this income has allowed the manager to start to consolidate his plans for this season and beyond. There is no doubt in my mind that this has, in some way, contributed to our early season form.

“John Sweeney loves being at Clyde and is very committed to the club on and off the park; he is proud to wear our armband. John’s selection was made by the manager, which reinforces the belief we have in him.”

Work is ongoing to attract new investor partners to support the Player Investment Initiative.
