PREVIEW: Clyde v Montrose
Saturday’s IRN-BRU Third Division match with Montrose is maybe lower key to the SKY match against Rangers, but manager Jim Duffy was keen to point out today that this match was no less important despite the lesser profile…
“Last time out was a great occasion for the club and a special one for the players, but it was a league match in which three points were lost so we need to make amends against Montrose. There is very little between the majority of sides in this league and victory tomorrow could see us move up a number of places. It is extremely tight.
“Player wise, we will be on similar lines to before but John Neill is suspended and Iain Gray returns. Unfortunately, Stevie Masterton remains out.
“We have been involved in a number of entertaining games to date and it was something we wanted to aim for at the start of the season as we were keen to improve the style of our play. Unfortunately, we have been more vulnerable defensively as a unit and we are trying to rectify that.
“Performance wise though, I would argue that we have been ok, with the notable exception of our game against East Stirling.
“As for tomorrow, Montrose have shown against us in the first game that they are a real threat going forward and they visit Broadwood on a good run so it will be tough. Hopefully we will come out on top and move above our visitors in the table.”
