Montrose 5-0 Clyde
Clyde’s 2011-12 campaign came to a disappointing end yesterday, as Montrose took advantage of a lacklustre performance to record yet another heavy victory over The Bully Wee at Links Park.
Iain Gray and Drew Ramsay replaced the suspended John Neill and Ryan Kane, as Jim Duffy made two changes to the team that faced Alloa last week.
However, it turned out to be a very one-sided contest throughout, as the Gable Endies took a comfortable two goal lead into the half time break thanks to a Martin Boyle double.
The home side’s domination continued in the second half, as further goals from Terry Masson, Alan Campbell and a third for Boyle ensured an easy three points.
The result also allowed Montrose to jump into an eighth place finish in the IRN-BRU Third Division, meaning a ninth place slot for Clyde.
