Ground Update

The Clyde FC Board held its monthly meeting last night and has given the official website an update on the current situation in regard to the Bully Wee’s home base for season 2012-13:-

“Firstly, the club would like to thank all who have contributed to the recent consultation about the redevelopment of the Showpark in East Kilbride, whether it was signing the petition, staffing information stands or meeting with local residents the response has been overwhelming and extremely positive.

“At the present time, our partners at East Kilbride Thistle are collating the feedback to evidence where it originated and fine tune the application to incorporate and take account of views expressed to date.

“Meanwhile, the club remains in discussions with its landlords, NLL with a view to agreeing a revised deal to remain at Broadwood for the immediate future. The content of those discussions are confidential and shall remain so until their conclusion but we are hopeful that an agreement can be reached that will be satisfactory to all parties.

“The Board, however, remains committed to its primary objective of enabling the Bully Wee to have a ground where it has control over its own destiny and will continue to work hard to achieve that goal, and are now pleased to be working with NLL on a positive agenda that recognises the club’s needs.”
