Clyde 1-0 Arbroath
The Bully Wee earned a vital three points at Broadwood, following a tense match.
Clyde started strongly and put pressure on the Red Lichties, without being able to create many clear-cut chances. At the other end, Callum Reidford had to be sharp to stop a volley from the edge of the box.
Just before half-time, Willie McLachlan swung a teasing free-kick into the box, which eluded everybody and drifted into the corner of the net to deservedly make it 1-0.
For much of the second half, Arbroath pushed hard to get an equaliser and came closest in the final minutes.
Firstly, a visiting striker failed to control a ball into the box when in space, before Reidford was forced into a terrific reflex save from a close range header in injury time.
The final whistle signalled a big win for Clyde and debut success for new manager John McCormack and assistant Davie Farrell.
