Nine Just Fine For Brown
Clyde Boss John Brown declared himself content after Clyde ran in nine goals this evening in a specially arranged match with the Daily Record’s ‘Gie’s a Game’ select.
All the signed players to date featured, alongside trialists and under-19 ‘keeper Jordan Allan.
9-3 was the full-time score and Bully Wee boss Brown spoke after the game, “The changes in the second half affected the flow of the game but like Saturday I was again impressed by the spirit and energy of the team.
“In addition to scoring some quality goals, we had a number of good passing movements that created opportunities and generally moved the ball well throughout the game. It was a more than worthwhile exercise. It is important that the boys get some game time together and build their match fitness as well.
The manager also confirmed that more squad arrivals were imminent: “It’s taken a while but our squad is now taking shape and it is a real boost that we can now get on with the job.
“I expect after the formalities are completed to announce some more signings tomorrow (Wednesday); we will then have a training session on Thursday before we face Stenhousemuir at Ochilview on Saturday to kick-off the new season.”
