SSBA Partner New Third Kit
On Saturday 13th September, The Clyde Supporters’ Trust and Clyde Football Club joined forces to raise awareness of Cumbernauld based charity, the Scottish Spina Bifida Association.
The Association, who support over 3,000 individuals across Scotland who are affected by spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus, has its national headquarters a goal-kick away from Broadwood Stadium and the Trust arranged to make Saturday’s derby day with Partick Thistle a special one for the organisation.
The SSBA accepted Clyde’s invitation to place their logo on the club’s third strip this season and fans at yesterday’s match got their first opportunity to take a look at the new kit. It will be worn by the team for the first time at East End Park on 20th December.
A collection was also made on the charity’s behalf prior to the derby clash. Clare Cogan Turner, Fundraising and Events Manager of the SSBA, said:-
“We are delighted that the club has agreed to place SSBA’s logo on the strip. As a charity we need to raise over £500,000 annually to run our extensive Scotland-wide family support services and to do this we need to raise people’s awareness, so Clyde’s support is invaluable to us.”
Gordon Thomson, a board member of the Clyde Supporters’ Trust, commented, “The kit will be used in the season ahead and is a tangible sign that the Trust and club is united in raising awareness of the excellent work that the SSBA achieve throughout Scotland.
“As a Trust we would also like to thank the Jags Trust for supporting the collection which raised £728 prior to the first derby match of the season. It is going to a great cause.”
