Clyde 1 v 1 Partick Thistle

The points were shared in the alternative Glasgow derby at Broadwood this afternoon after a decent match.

The Jags opened the scoring on 27 minutes, after one of Clyde’s better spells of the first half. Scott Chaplain put a fine volley past Peter Cherrie from the edge of the box to make the score 0-1.

The Bully Wee pushed hard to get an equaliser before the break but found it hard to create clear-cut chances.

It took until the 69th minute for another goal to be recorded, when the lively Dave McKay was brought down in the box and Pat Clarke squeezed home the resulting penalty.

Scott Gemmill was then unlucky to see his long-range effort come down off the underside of the bar and at the other end Cherrie pulled off a superb save.

Deep into injury time, Gemmill was put through on goal by McSwegan but the striker’s shot was brilliantly saved by Tuffey in the Thistle goal to ensure that the match finished all square.
