Bell: “No More Home Clangers”
“Home form is crucial and it’s important that we get back to winning ways against Thistle on Saturday.” Dougie Bell Clyde’s assistant manager spoke to the official website. “Training has been good this week and the boys are keen to make amends for the disappointing way we exited the Challenge Cup last weekend.
“Tomorrow means a lot to me. I’m desperate for us to do well. The first derby last season was a sore one, to lose it so poorly and heavily was embarrassing in a derby match. So I’m pleased we have Pat Clarke back as we missed him last weekend and it’s important we start the game well. At times we have performed better away from home and it is important for the fans that we turned that around.
“Thistle have had some good results this season especially in the cup competitions and they will be looking to keep their momentum going but this league is tight and we can compete in it. We have a squad who will always work hard but we need to turn it into results. We have an opportunity to move within one point of Thistle and that will give everyone a boost as we want to continue to move up the division.”
David Hutton is back in the squad but the game is too soon for Willie McLaren. Better news for the winger, however, is that his plaster cast is due to be removed from his ankle next week.
A big crowd is expected tomorrow and fans are advised to get to Broadwood early for the 3pm kick-off.
