Clyde 1 v 1 Morton
Mark Brown’s headed goal in the fifth minute of injury time gave Clyde a point at Broadwood today, as the late luck that went Morton’s way in last season’s opener swung round a year later.
The best early chance of the match fell to Alan Trouten, when his low shot was parried away by Ton ‘keeper Stewart.
As the half progressed, the visitors looked the more likely to score and did so through Jon Newby, who beat Hutton at the second attempt.
Clyde struggled to create many chances in the second half as Morton sat deep and threatened on the break. Brian Wake was sent off for a second bookable offence with five minutes remaining.
With the referee about to blow his whistle, Willie McLaren’s corner was met by Brown at the back post and, to the relief of the home support, hit the roof of the net.
