Reaction To Dens Win
Colin Hendry and Dougie Imrie spoke to the press immediately after Clyde’s terrific win at Dens Park and both were delighted with the outcome of the match. The Clyde manager said:-
“We had the ball about a foot over the line in the first half and it should have been goal. We obviously got a slice of luck with the own goal, but it was really just a case of things being evened out after what happened earlier.
“In life, and in football, you get out of it what you put in and I think for what we put in today, no one could grudge us the three points. It’s an important win for us and if you can string a few results together you can climb the table because this is a tight league.
“Coming back here was emotional for me, but I am delighted at getting the win.”
Imrie produced the type of display he is undoubtedly capable of on the left wing and was fittingly rewarded with a part in the winning goal. He said:-
“I think the ball was going in before their guy hit it but we don’t care how they hit the net as long as we win.
“The ball was definitely over the line in the first half. I tried to tell the linesman that but he wouldn’t listen. Getting the goal so late in the game made up for it though.
“It’s great to come to a place like this and get a victory. We played well and defended excellently at times so that gave us a great chance to get something later in the game.
“We’ve moved off the bottom of the table and now we’re just hoping to get a run going so we can get up a few more places.”
